From the City of Newburgh
Installation of the second phase of asphalt pavement on Robinson Ave. will begin on Monday, Nov. 15 and is expected to go through Friday, Nov. 19. This phase will include the pavement on the west side of Robinson Ave. (southbound traffic lane), beginning at North Plank Road and extending south to the Marne Ave. intersection. Please note this intersection is also the exit of the NFA at North parking lot.
Work is dependent on favorable weather, and if the weather is inclement, it is expected it will take longer.
This paving work WILL result in limited to NO access to driveways and access across Robinson Ave. at the North Street intersection will be shut down. Due to the closure of North Street, it is anticipated that additional traffic, including school buses, will utilize Crescent Avenue and Jamison Place to gain access to/from Robinson Avenue.
While it is understood that the paving is a hardship, the completion of this phase is expected to allow two-way traffic in the north end of the project in the near future.
Although the regular flow of traffic through the job site will be maintained during the paving work, motorists should still expect delays due to construction activities. In addition, the flow of traffic for North High’s bussing and staff; the morning and afternoon school traffic WILL certainly have an impact on the traffic and cause delays.
Shortly after the paving is complete the new pavement will be striped, creating what looks like the finished product.
