For the past two months, a dance studio in Lakeside Plaza in Newburgh has been the scene of a transformation of young dancers into sugar plum fairies, wide-eyed children and mice who are learning the steps of the classic ballet, The Nutcracker.
The Orange County Ballet Theatre practices all fall at Darlene Wilson Institute of Dance for this production that features beautiful sets and wonderful dancers that have been creating memories for children for the past 43 years.
The performance takes to the stage of Monroe Woodbury High School next Saturday and Sunday, December 4 and 5. The Saturday performance is at 7 pm; the Sunday performance at 2:30 pm.
