Music lover Aquanetta Wright and her friends and followers will be back at the Newburgh ferry landing every night next week, spreading Christmas cheer to commuters as they arrive back home. Wright, who has won a huge following of the jazz series she created at the waterfront, is also known as the Ferry Godmother, a name that stems from her serenade of commuters over the years.
The Ferry Godmother is inviting the community to join her for the 5th Annual Ferry Godmother Newburgh Christmas Caroling Series, starting on Monday, December 20th through Friday, the 24th, from 6 to 7 pm. She says that carolers will be creating holiday magic at the Newburgh waterfront and she invites musicians to accompany singers, as well church choirs to lead the crowd in classic carols.
