NFA Interact Club Students Visit Johnes-Holden Home Residents
Students from the Newburgh Free Academy Interact Club spent a recent afternoon spreading winter cheer to residents of the Johnes-Holden Home in Newburgh. Students spent time with some of the area’s most treasured residents sharing stories and presenting them with holiday gift boxes that were donated by fellow students and faculty members. In addition, representatives from the Newburgh Rotary were on hand for the special event.
Students Help Local Food Drive

Temple Hill Academy’s National Junior Honor Society students helped organize a food drive to support Mary’s Hope Food Pantry.
Temple Hill Academy’s National Junior Honor Society students, along with teachers Jillian Martarano, Juana Rivera, and Kim Saffiotti, recently helped organize a food drive to support Mary’s Hope Food Pantry. Under the supervision of the National Junior Honor Society, Temple Hill Academy was able to collect approximately 1,100 cans for the food pantry. The entire faculty, staff, and student population took part in the collection, with Charlie Bryne’s sixth grade class collecting an overwhelming 455 cans for the food drive.
According to those that helped organize the event, special thanks go to Rich Campbell and his crew from RIM Plumbing for helping load and distribute the cans to Mary’s Hope Food Pantry. This is the tenth year Temple Hill Academy has been participating in supporting local food pantries.
