Are you tired of watching the snow melt? Get out and try something new at these classes and discussions at the Newburgh Free Library in March:
Newburgh Library Knitting Club. This drop-in program (no registration required) is open to all ages and all knitting levels. (Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult). Come to socialize and share ideas; instruction available for beginners. Please bring your own knitting needles and yarn. Tues., March 8 and March 22 at 7 p.m.
Create Your Own Herbal Soap. Learn how to make herbal soaps using home grown herbs. This program is a lecture presented by the master gardeners of Cornell Cooperative Extension. Hot Movies for a Cold Day. In this contemporary sci-fi action film, your mind is the scene of the crime. Starring Matt Damon. Call for movie title since licensing restrictions prohibit the listing of the title. Mon., March 14 at 6 p.m.
Digital Photography. Learn how to get photos off your camera, edit them and store them. Bring your camera (with photos) and cable to connect to the computer or CD with photos. Registration required. Mysteries Monday Night Book Discussion. This month’s book is titled Tin Roof Blowdown by James Lee Burke. Librarian Suzanne Christensen will lead the discussions. Great Books Discussion. If you are interested in joining a lively and engaging group that fosters discussion of challenging ideas, consider joining our Great Books Discussion Group. Discussions will focus on significant works of philosophy, economics, political science, psychology and other disciplines and will follow the Shared Inquiry Method promoted by the Great Books Foundation.
