An investigation into a reported robbery on Broadway Monday evening led to the arrest of a Newburgh man for possession of a .22 caliber weapon. Police say that a woman reported that she was robbed at knifepoint by approximately six men in a hallway at 222 Broadway.
With the victim in their car, police found two alleged attackers on the corner of 3rd St. and Dubois Streets. Three additional robbery suspects were spotted on Broadway and City Terrace. Police say that as the officers were interviewing one of the suspects when he tried to flee. A struggle ensued and officers found a loaded .22 caliber revolver, which led them to charge Glenn Thomas, 21, of Newburgh with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a felony.
Jerry Holmes, 19, and an unidentified 17-year-old, both from the city of Newburgh, face a felony charge of robbery in the first degree.
