Cupcake lovers are expected to descend on the Ritz Theater Lobby next month for the first annual Cupcake-a-Palooza, a cupcake bake-off event for local professional and amateur bakers.
But first, to make sure that there are plenty of tasty cakes for all the sweet tooths in Newburgh, organizers are seeking bakers who want to participate in the bake-off.
Cupcakes will be judged in several categories, including “Best Overall Professional,” “Most Artistic,” “Child Baker” (Age 18 & under) and “Best Amateur.”
There is no charge to participants but if you want to come sample the treats at the Cupcake-a-Palooza on April 30th, you will have to pay $5 admission.
The event is being organized by Safe Harbors of the Hudson, a Newburgh-based nonprofit organization that is committed to transforming lives and building communities through housing and the arts.
To reserve a participant spot or for more information, contact June Henley at (845) 562-6940 ext. 110 or jhenley@safe-harbors.org or visit www.safe-harbors.org.
