A 28-year-old city of Newburgh man is being charged with raping a 12-year-old girl that he met in a laundromat.
City of Newburgh police report that David Xilama, who lives on Van Ness Avenue, engaged in sexual intercourse over four days with the underage girl. Xilama told police that he thought she was 14.
He has been charged with five counts of first-degree rape, a class B felony and is being held in the city lock-up pending arraignment.
