The City of Newburgh has joined communities across New York State and the country by launching single-stream recycling instead of separate collection of paper, cans, bottles, and other recyclables.
What are the advantages?
* It’s cost- effective for residents and businesses- only one container, up to a maximum of 50 lbs. is needed
* It’s convenient
* It encourages people to recycle
* The City receives market-rate for recyclables, and saves money by picking up all recycling at the same time, eliminating the use of two separate trucks
* It’s green!
Recycling is mandatory in the City of Newburgh but now it’s easier. For more information, visit http://www.cityofnewburgh-ny.gov/dpw/index.htm or call (845) 565-1082.
