On Thursday, June 23, join a special evening to learn about the mid-19th century architectural style pioneered by A.J. Downing in the city of Newburgh. Architect Jeffrey Small will discuss Downing’s work and the Hudson Valley’s Carpenter Gothic Style Architecture in a lecture at 7 pm at the Karpeles Manuscript Library at 94 Broadway. The presentation is offered by the Newburgh Preservation Association.
Before the lecture, the Palatine Shop at 5 Grand Street will host an opening reception at 6 pm. If you haven’t seen the incredible collection of Newburgh artifacts at the Palatine Shop, this will be a great opportunity.
