Newburgh Jazz Series Performances Announced

Published On Tuesday, June 28, 2011 By Newburgh Editor. Under: News.

The Dynamic Approach Marching band, seen here in the Memorial Day parade, will kick off the Newburgh Jazz Series next Wednesday.

Newburgh’s own Dynamic Approach Marching Band will set the tone for the kick-off of the 2011 Newburgh Jazz Series on Wednesday, July 6, at 6:30 pm.   The marching band, which was formed with the support of the Newburgh Youth Bureau, features two dozen dancers and an equal number of drummers who are guaranteed to liven up the Newburgh waterfront.

Two of the young dancers of Chikwu Ayali.

Another group of drummers and dancers will take the stage next, this time moving to an African beat.  The Chiku Awali African Dancers and Drummers keep traditions alive in rhythms and dance and offer a brilliant performance to start the eight-week-long Jazz Series.
