A months-long investigation led to the arrest of a city of Newburgh man early Tuesday morning on charges of selling crack cocaine heroin. Members of the city police narcotics unit along with the town of Newburgh police, New York State Police and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office executed a no-knock search warrant at 9 Sherman Drive in the city’s west end.
Police report that the warrant followed the purchases of undercover narcotics from Alphonso Grant who lived at the residence with his family. In the search of premises, police say they found ten glassine envelopes or ‘decks’ of heroin.
Grant, 21, was booked on two felony counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance, one felony count of criminal possession of a controlled substance and one misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
