Thrill to the accomplish strings of violinist Steven Zynszajn this Saturday, September 24, when he plays Brahms’ Violin Concerto in D major with the Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra in the premier performance of its 17th concert series. The concert, Die Musik, gets underway at 7:30 pm at Mount
St. Mary College’s Aquinas Hall. The program also features Weber’s Overture to Opera Der Freischutz
And Brahms Symphony No. 4 in E minor, Opus 98.
The educational Shacklett Preview is at 6:30 pm. Ticket prices are $25 for reserved seating, $20 for general admission, $15 for seniors, $10 for students, and children under seven are admitted free of charge. A Tribute to Judy Garland at the Library
On Sunday, the music offering is cabaret and the admission is free at the Newburgh Free Library, where Francine Evans will perform “A Tribute to Judy Garland” at 3 pm.
Cabaret singer Francine Evans, backed by her jazz musician husband Joel Zelnick, will feature the tunes made famous by the legendary Judy Garland, including “Over the Rainbow,” “The Man That Got Away,” “Get Happy” and “The Trolley Song.” Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Francine Evans, who has appeared in every major New York City ballroom with her show and big band, and Joel Zelnick, a jazz great who has entertained five presidents.
No registration is required for the concert. Refreshments will be provided courtesy of the Friends of the Newburgh Free Library.

That’s the Air Pirates Radio drama that returns to the Railroad Playhouse on Friday night with a performance of Tica Maroo Space Cadet: Is This the Beginning, the first episode of this popular comic science fiction series and tells the story of Cadet Maroo’s first mission.
