The St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital Gala, one of the premiere social events in the mid-Hudson Valley, transformed Torches on the Hudson into a kaleidoscope of pink feathers and silver sequins in honor of the St. Luke’s Cornwall Auxiliary, the members of which were once known as the “pink ladies”.
Allan E. Atzrott, President and CEO, made an unexpected announcement during dinner, saying the newly renovated main lobby of the Newburgh campus will be dedicated to the Auxiliary.
“Their support to the SLCH family has been unwavering,” said Atzrott. “The new lobby offers a friendly atmosphere, welcoming greeting and supporting visitors of the hospital, much like many Auxilians have done during their tenure.”
The Auxiliary has played an instrumental role in supporting services that provide comprehensive health care to our community. The group consists of community advocates and fund-raisers for the hospital. Their encouragement and welcoming demeanor has provided the hospital and its friends with a feeling of comfort for nearly 60 years. Their fundraising efforts have included special events and raffles, all benefitting capital expansions at both campuses.

Guests enjoy gaming at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital’s Gala held on September 10, at Torches on the Hudson.
This year’s Gala resulted in more than $100,000 towards capital projects and expansions. The event attracted nearly 500 guests including hospital leadership, elected officials, and community members at large. Major sponsors included The St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital Medical Staff, Hunter Roberts Construction Group and KeyBank. All beverages were generously provided by Mid-Valley Wine and Liquor.
