On Thursday, youth and creativity mix it up when the internationationally-acclaimed ReadNex Poetry Squad performs at SUNY Orange I Newburgh, against a backdrop of murals by young local artists, sponsored by Newburgh Youth Art.
Through words and music, the ReadNex Poetry Squad entertains and uplifts urban communities with their unique style influenced by Hip-Hop, Soul, Latin and Caribbean music. The Newburgh Youth Art project is designed for young artists to have an artistic outlet for their voices. Stick around after the Readnex Poetry Squad’s 5 pm performance for a reception and chance to meet the artists involved.
Ghost Stories from An Investigator
You can also walk down Grand Street from SUNY Orange to the Newburgh Free Library, where popular ghost investigator Linda Zimmerman will present Haunted Tales from the Hudson Valley at 7 pm. Zimmerman, who is also a researcher and author, has written the 10-volume Ghost Investigator series, Haunted Hudson Valley and numerous other books.
