New faces. New ideas. New enthusiasm. That’s what I think we will get from a new administration led by Judy Kennedy. I have worked and volunteered in this community for over 20 years, and year after year we get the same old thing, and it is time for a change. Not just in personnel, but in how City Hall is run. We are in a mess, and there’s no reason to think that the people or the system which created the mess will be able to get us out of it. Why give it another chance?
We need to get back to basics, which is safety by police and fire, water, sewer services, parks and recreation, those basic things that give your community a service foundation. We need to take care of our neighborhoods, and our streets, if there is money available beyond that, then sure there are things that would be nice to have, but like many families know, if you don’t have the basics, shelter, clothing, food, all the rest don’t mean very much.
It’s amazing how many problems have been created for our city by so-called leaders who just don’t get it, and who have forgotten what public service is really about, the Newburgh community has a tremendous opportunity on November 8, 2011 to send a strong message not only to the current leaders but to the region as well, and I know we will rise to meet this challenge.
We can’t go wrong with a Charter change and an administration led by Judy Kennedy and her team!
