Town of Newburgh voters will be going to the polls on Tuesday, November 8 to elect a town supervisor, two town council members, a town clerk and town justice.
Race for Supervisor and Council Seats Are Contested
Three incumbents are running for re-election: Supervisor Wayne Booth and council members Gilbert Piaquadio and George Woolsey. The three are the candidates of the Republican and Conservative parties while Booth also has the backing of the Independence Party.
They will face challenges from Stephen Krasner, who is making his second attempt to unseat Booth, who took office in 2002. Krasner is the candidate of the Democratic and Working Family parties.
Three candidates are challenging the incumbents for the town council seats. William Corbin and Vanessa Tirado are the candidates of the Democratic Party and Corbin is also backed by the Working Families Party. Gary MacEntee is running for town council as a candidate of the Working Families and Independence parties.
Town Clerk Andrew Zarautski and Town Justice Richard Clarino are running unopposed for re-election.
