Voters decided in favor of both of the propositions on the ballot Tuesday that will change how the City of Newburgh government is structured.
The first proposition will add two seats to the city council and allow voters to directly elect representatives from their wards, replacing an at-large system that has been in place for more than 90 years. It passed by an unofficial vote of 1,146 to 498.
The second charter revision will give the city council more power over the hiring and supervision of the city manager. It passed by an official vote of 1,270 to 364..
