Young performers from across Orange County are bringing an anti-bullying message to Newburgh Free Academy on Tuesday, with two presentations of the musical “Letters to Daddy: The Musical Key to Bully Free.” The original play tells the story of a girl who, worried that her parents may divorce, gets into a fight with a schoolyard bully, then is forced to reflect on how she ended up in this mess.
The show is a production of New WIndsor-based 4e Production, a multimedia production company that balances entertainment with education to create original programs that address universal social issues. It is working with Orange County agencies, including the Orange County Department of Social Services, Youth Bureau, System of Care and Probation.
The two shows will be performed for fifth and sixth graders from Gardnertown Fundamental Magnet School at 10 am and noon. Assistant Principal Lisa Nazzaro saw the show in Middletown at OCCC and decided it would be beneficial for students to see.
