From the Newburgh Enlarged City School District
On Saturday, December 3, 2011, from 9 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., the Newburgh Enlarged City School District will be hosting Parent University 2011. The event offers parents and guardians an opportunity to meet with professionals in the field of education to discuss timely topics in the educational system. The event will allow parents and guardians to gain a better understanding of their student’s educational needs and help their child down the path to success. Each parent will have the opportunity to select two workshops of their choice.

8. Steps in the Special Education Process
9. Understanding Your Child’s Individualized Educational Program (IEP)
10. Navigating the Newburgh Enlarged City School District
The event will be held at SUNY Orange Kaplan Hall, corners of Grand and First Street, in Newburgh. Parking is free (parking garage). In addition, free childcare will be available at the Ebenezer Baptist Church (across the street from Kaplan Hall).
