Maria Zemantauski, Flamenco guitarist at SUNY
If acoustic guitar music – from classical to folk and jazz – appeals to you, there are three concerts in the next week that you won’t want to miss.
First up, this Friday night is Maria Zemantauski, a world-renowned Flamenco guitarist and composer. She is performing at the Newburgh Campus of SUNY Orange as part of its World Music and Culture Series on at 7pm in the Great Room, Kaplan Hall 101.
Maria Zemantauski is one of the world’s few heralded female flamenco-style guitarists and one of even fewer female flamenco composers. She has performed in Spain, Italy and across the continental United States to great acclaim.
Admission is free with SUNY Orange Student ID and $5 for Faculty/Staff and the Public
Free, secure parking is available in the Kaplan Hall underground parking garage accessible via First Street. Kaplan Hall is located on the corner of First Street and Grand Street.

Margie & Dave in Concert at the Newburgh Free Library
Recording artists, musicians and songwriters, Margie DeRosso & Dave Lang perform original compositions and well-known sing-along songs at this free holiday concert, where their harmonies & acoustic guitars showcase the magic of the season. Frank Vignola’s Hot Club Returns
On Saturday, December 10, at 8 pm, Frank Vignola’s Hot Club, brings a celebration of Django Reinhardt to the Ritz Theater at 107 Broadway. Guitar virtuoso Frank Vignola, a leading proponent of Reinhardt’s gypsy jazz style of playing, has assembled a topnotch trio for a searing tribute to one of his earliest musical influences. Frank is one of the most accomplished, multi-dimensional players walking the planet today. Monster player, composer and improviser, Frank plays proficiently in every genre, from jazz to bluegrass, and has recorded and toured with the liked of Madonna, Leon Redbone, and Ringo Starr.
The concerts will be held in the Ritz Theater Lobby at 107 Broadway in Newburgh.
