With the students and administration finally settled in their new, permanent home on Bay View Terrace, the Nora Cronin Presentation Academy is announcing the election of a new executive board. The new President of the Board of Trustees is Karen A. DeCrosta of Montgomery, a retired educator and administrator, with a 30-year career in teaching leadership and board participation. She has participated in NCPA programs and projects for six years.
Diane Halstead of Newburgh, a paralegal with a local law firm, assumes the position of Vice President. She has been a member of NCPA’s Development Committee and chairs the Barnes & Noble Bookfair project.
Sr. Eileen Matthews PBVM, a senior consultant with Brenner, McDonagh & Tortolani, Inc Management & Financial Consultants of White Plains, NY will serve as Treasurer.
Anna Bracciale of New Windsor, who is currently NCPA’s webmaster, becomes Secretary. She has served on of the Development and Public Relations Committees and chairs the annual Shop ‘Til You Drop event.
The new board replaces NCPA’s originals trustees who have served the academy for its first six years, through start up as a functioning middle school and a million dollar building project that culminated in dedication ceremonies in November.
Retiring trustees are: Sr. Katherine McKenna PBVM (President), Daisy Vale (Treasurer), Verna Kirwan (Secretary), Ellenjane Gonyea, Helena Guinta, Frank Miranda, and Dr. Michele Winchester-Vega. Most will continue on NCPA committees. Additional new trustees will be announced in January.
