They are simple items that most people purchase without a thought, but for troops stationed in Iraq in often harsh conditions, they can make life brighter. Now a group of students at Newburgh Free Academy are collecting items that will be sent to the troops as part of Operation Newburgh Cares.
Operation Newburgh Cares launches on Saturday, December 17th, 2011 from the North Cafeteria at Newburgh Free Academy from 9 am to 12 noon, in cooperation with www.supportourheroes.net. The operation is being sponsored by the NFA Solar Racing Team, the NFA Key Club, the NFA National Honor Society, the NYS Science Honor Society, and the NFA Social Studies Department in coordination with numerous local service organizations and veteran’s groups.
