The Newburgh Enlarged City School District’s kindergarten registration for the upcoming 2012-2013 school year will take place for those children who will be five years old on or before December 1, 2012, during two registration periods.
Kindergarten Sibling Registration:
January 10th until January 20th (Closed January 16th for Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
Kindergarten Non-Sibling Registration:
March 6th until March 16th
“Sibling Registration” denotes students with siblings already in NECSD elementary schools who live at the same address. “Non-sibling Registration” is designated for students who will be entering the district for the first time.
If a child is currently attending one of the NECSD Universal Pre-K Program In-District sites located at Balmville Communications and Media Center, Gardnertown Fundamental Magnet School, Horizons-on-the-Hudson Magnet School and New Windsor School or a NECSD Pre-K Program Provider which includes Head Start of Eastern Orange County, Newburgh Day Nursery, and Windsor Academy there is no need to register. A one page choice application will be sent home with your child before the end of January.
Registration will be held at the Office of Registration located in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District Welcome Center at 191 Washington Street, Newburgh, New York. The Office of Registration is open daily Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. For more information please call 563-KIDS (5437).
The documents needed for registration are:
1. Birth certificate.
2. Immunizations/shot record.
3. Proof of residency, one of the following:
Utility bill (gas, oil, electric, telephone, or cable)
Rental agreement / lease agreement / rent receipt
Mortgage statement
4. Government issued picture I.D. of the parent/guardian.
