If you are a non-profit agency with an idea for a program that will serve low-income youth in the City of Newburgh, the city wants to hear from you now. The city’s community development director, Courtney Kain, is organizing an technical assistance opportunity for interested groups on January 30 at 5 pm at City Hall.
The city is making money available for youth programs because leaders have identified youth as a priority in the city and will make a portion of its 2011 and 2012 Community Development Block Grants available for youth violence prevention programs.
In order to receive funding, all applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
• Address Youth Violence Prevention or Workforce Development/ Entrepreneurial Development
• Lead applicant must be a non-profit organization with 501 ( C) (3) tax exempt designation
• The program requesting funding must serve low income youth (under age 21) who are residents of the City of Newburgh
