Man United doubt Real Madrid have funds to buy David De Gea

The 24-year-old striker is now with Real Madrid in the United States for their pre-season preparations and there are suggestions that Zinedine Zidane would not mind having him in his squad next term.

United have paid £75million to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton and brought in Benfica defender Victor Lindelof for £30.8m plus add-ons, while the club failed with a bid to sign Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata and allowed injured forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic to leave at the end of his contract.

Alvaro Morata has a buzz cut now, but if you look closely there are remnants of red hair dye – reportedly part of his big reveal for his Manchester United move, according to the Express.

Manchester United usurped their Premier League rivals for Lukaku’s signature though, which has left Antonio Conte to turn to Morata in his search for a striker.

United offered £60million but Real demanded £80million and a deal fell down despite Morata wanting the move and personally intervening to try and smooth it through. However, the Old Trafford club were successful in beating the Blues in signing the Premier League striker.

“I don’t want to be disrespectful and be speaking about the player”.

“I don’t like to speak about players who aren’t ours, because Morata is not our player”, the United boss said.

“We don’t have our door closed, we are not happy with just Lukaku and Lindelof”.

Who could those two players be?

“Yes, we have had interest, that is obvious and it’s public”.

“So maybe we don’t get two, maybe we get one, but at least we need one player to give us a little bit more options”.

“We have not come to an economic agreement, that is obvious as well”.

“(We made) offers we thought were fair and yet no agreement was reached”.

“But I don’t want to say Matic or any other name because I don’t think it’s correct”.
