Vegas fight is 'ridiculous', says Lewis

Despite boxing experts insisting that Conor McGregor lacks any chance of beating the heavily favored and undefeated Floyd Mayweather, the preponderance of wagers, so far, have been on the plucky Irishman to be victorious.

Floyd plans to face off against UFC tough guy Conor McGregor at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on 26 August (17) – the same night as the BIG3 final. Rapper and actor Ice Cube, who is one of the founders of the BIG3 league, says he’d be willing to surrender the date for Mayweather vs. McGregor for the right price, of course. “So it was really special for me to see he was interested enough to put all parties together so we could do some good business”.

McGregor’s manager Audie Attar of Paradigm Sports Management revealed on Monday when speaking to MMAFighting that they purposefully let his previous apparel deal expire in anticipation of this showdown with Mayweather. “To me, I know who is going to win already so there’s no use in watching it”.

The matchup with McGregor gives Mayweather a chance to reach the 50-0 career milestone.

Oscar De La Hoya warned last month the bout “could ruin boxing forever” and now Lewis says he “can’t take it seriously”.

“I can’t take it serious”, Lewis said.
