Liverpool target Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s Arsenal future has become shrouded in a massive cloud of doubt recently after the Telegraph reported that no formal contract offer has been made to the player.
The Sunday Times claims that the 23-year-old has considered his future during his post-season holiday and believes a move away from Arsene Wenger’s side would benefit his progression.
However, it appears Arsenal have not tried quickly enough to sort out his situation.
The England global has endured a fine season at the club, making 45 appearances and raking in tons of praise following his end-of-season performances.
The versatile midfielder, who also played as a right wing-back last season for the Gunners, is subject to interest from Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool, all of whom would like to exploit the contract situation and add a home-grown talent to their ranks.
Oxlade-Chamberlain had even been told he could expect a swift conclusion regarding a new contract.
With just a year to go, clubs could be able to get their hands on the Arsenal man on a cut-price deal.
Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Arsenal in 2011 and has gone out to turn out 194 times for the club, including 129 appearances in the Premier League.
A host of Arsenal players are heading into the final season of their current deals, including star duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
Meanwhile, Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs and Wojciech Szczesny only have a year left in north London too.
