Cosby set for 3rd day of sexual assault trial

The next time she visited Cosby’s home, to discuss her future with the women’s basketball team, Constand said the pills Cosby gave her left her incapacitated as he grabbed her breast and touched her genitals.

“I don’t condone sexual assault in any way, shape or form, but, at the end of the day, our court system is set up … you’re innocent until proven guilty…” she said.

“In my head, I was trying to get my hands to move or my legs to move, but I was frozen”, said Constand. “I remember wanting to pull up my dress and wanting to cover myself, but not being able to”, Johnson said.

Cosby, 79, was charged in 2015 with felony aggravated indecent assault shortly before the statute of limitations on Constand’s claim expired. If he’s convicted, Cosby faces up to 10 years in prison on each of three felony counts and up to $25,000 in fines. They also indicated she called lawyers specializing in civil litigation before reporting the alleged assault to police.

Constand has said she felt her friendship with Cosby was important to the school’s athletics department.

Constand met Cosby at Temple University in Philly where he was one of its most famous alumni and she was director of basketball operations. Cosby told her the pills would help her relax, take the edge off.

More than 50 women have said that Cosby assaulted them, but the statute of limitations has run out in almost all cases. Cosby is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting Constand at his home outside Philadelphia in 2004. “She was crying. She was telling me, ‘Mommy, I don’t know what is going on, but they’re telling lies about me'”. Both times, Constand said, she made it clear she didn’t welcome the behavior. She said she lost consciousness soon after Cosby pressured her to take a large white pill.

Regardless, Feden said Constand could not have consented that night given her condition. “I wanted it to stop”. When Argusa pointed out that she contacted Cosby after the incident, she said she did it for her job, “I thought it would look negative on me and being a representative of coach [Dawn] Staley at the university”.

Cosby, who is present for the trial but will not testify, reportedly appeared to be shaking his head “no” during Constand’s testimony.

In three hours of emotional testimony, another woman, Kelly Johnson, described to the jury how the comedian allegedly drugged and assaulted her at a hotel in Los Angeles in 1996.

Pulliam has defended him in the past and in an interview with Access Hollywood, she told the public to hold their judgment.

But Constand told prosecutor Kristen Faden she was so out of it she couldn’t tell the Fat Albert creator to stop.

On Tuesday, Constand had said, “I trusted him”, adding, “I wasn’t scared if something became a pass at me or became an advance at me”.

Cosby, best known for playing a revered father figure in the 1980s television hit comedy series “The Cosby Show“, has denied all the allegations against him.

She asked what they were and whether or not they were herbal and she said Cosby told her, “Put them down”.

The stage was set for Tuesday’s confrontation after prosecutors used the first day and a half of the trial to argue that Cosby made a habit of knocking women out with pills and then molesting them.

The defense gets another crack at Constand on Wednesday.
