Gingrich: Opponents Entangling Trump in 'Legalistic Nightmare'

Donald Trump has finally confirmed he’s being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation – by tweeting about it.

“The only thing that really has changed is the president is attacking Bob Mueller and therefore Newt Gingrich is attacking Bob Mueller”, said Schiff, a member of a House committee investigating Russian meddling in the election.

When former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich went into the belly of the beast on Tuesday to promote his new book “Understanding Trump” and do a little back and forth with the hens on ABC’s “The View“, he likely expected a logical contradiction or two.

“‘By the way, I know you said I needed to spend eighty million but I’ve only spent thirty million”. “And I don’t think people realize this”.

Gingrich has been one of Trump’s most vocal supporters.

“I think it’s fantastic, if you look at the – for example, CNN’s 93 percent negative coverage according to Harvard, 93 percent negative, I think it’s a miracle that Trump has any approval”, the former speaker said. Nobody on Capitol Hill has any proof I did anything with the Russians.

Mueller has reportedly for the federal investigation into possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation, and plans to hire more. The former speaker said the source of the president’s infuriation is Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

“He is infuriated, and legitimately, in my judgment, by this whole Russian bologna”, Gingrich said. And I think the answer is they want to lay the foundation to discredit whatever Bob Mueller comes up with.

“He couldn’t find a single pro-Trump attorney to hire, I think that’s a mistake to pretend that this is some neutral investigation”.

Gingrich reversed course from a month ago, when he tweeted praise of Mueller, calling him “a superb choice” to head the Russian Federation investigation.

He said that a series of events have taught people that thinking of President Trump, and by extension the Republican Party, in violent terms is okay.

“I think it’s incredible, if you look at the – for example, CNN’s 93 percent negative coverage according to Harvard, 93 percent negative, I think it’s a miracle that Trump has any approval”, Gingrich said. “But it’s nearly like it’s who he has been his whole life”.
