The original Xbox ‘Duke’ controller is coming back

“Most of the people will say, “I want a console that plays the games I wanna go play, and I feel great about the experience”.

Now, this is not exactly an announcement or confirmation but Phil elaborated quite a bit about the prospect of something like Game Pass and giving PC users access to a back catalog of Xbox titles from the original console to the Xbox 360. Xbox One S shipped last year, the X is shipping this year, I love our hardware line.

The Xbox One X has been revealed in all its gaming glory, as Microsoft now turn their attentions to its release date.

It’s an opinion shared by ArsTechnica, which says that the new console’s added graphics power is “noticeable”, but won’t “wow” users in the same way that the transition from standard to high definition visuals did.

Having found out about the new console, the Express Online asked a few developers what they thought about the new gaming machine.

The backwards compatibility program has been a huge success on Xbox One, allowing gamers to play hundreds of Xbox 360 games on the new console without having to dig out the old one. When it comes to weight, the PS4 Pro comes in 1.2 pounds lighter than the Xbox One X, though this is a small difference. And while these things from a PR standpoint would be easily to attach a trailer too and present at the show, it’s not something he is ultimately interested in doing (in presenting games this way that are another two and half, three years away).

That said, there are people who are wondering just why there wasn’t more AAA games shown off for the system this year.

“The original Xbox, OG Xbox, is a little bit easier, because that was an x86 chip it was running on”. “I will jump on another grenade for this one, but… the fact that somebody would kind of make the assertion that somehow we’re not keeping Minecraft players safe, I found not only from a Microsoft perspective, but a game industry perspective, I don’t know why that has to be the dialog”. The upcoming pirate-themed adventure game from Rare Studios had impressive visual elements and what looked to be some fun gameplay, but it would be surprising if it winds up as a big sales hit.
