Two naval officers shot dead in Pakistan, three injured

The sailors were transporting iftar items during a routine run from Jiwani city when their vehicle was ambushed by four assailants on two motorbikes, the Dawn reported.

A security man was killed and five others were injured in firing of armed men in Gwadar on Monday.

The injured were shifted to Karachi for treatment, added the spokesman.

A spokesman for Pakistan Navy said the three Naval personnel were injured in the attack. “We will not bow before the terrorists”, Zehri said in his statement.

On June 14, Iranian officials said two suspected terrorists were killed in Chabahar city in Sistan-Baluchistan province while five others were arrested, including two national from a neighboring country, according to Tehran Times.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Zehri have condemned the incident.

Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti told Anadolu Agency over the phone that suspected terrorists were trying to disturb the ongoing mega-projects in the province through such attacks. He vowed to take action against the attack and punish those responsible.

China is also developing the warm water Gwadar port, a prominent feature of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) plan.

The attack comes days after the Islamic State claimed responsibility of killing two Chinese nationals.
