In the report by the Washington Post, the investigation is being expanded to consider whether President Trump obstructed justice by asking former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey to end the probe into former #national security Adviser, Michael Flynn, over his ties with Russian Federation, and the firing of the former FBI boss. The committee, which is investigating Russia’s meddling in the presidential election and whether any of Trump’s associates had ties with the country at the time, expects Kushner to provide documents and face questions from the senators.

Special counsel Robert Mueller is probing the business dealings of Jared Kushner, President Donald Trumps son-in-law and adviser, as part of the investigation into Russias interference in the 2016 presidential election, the media reported.

The interviews are some of the first indications of the efforts of Mueller’s newly assembled team.

During the December meeting with Kislyak, Kushner suggested establishing a secure communications line between Trump officials and the Kremlin at a Russian diplomatic facility, reports The Washington Post.

As Mueller assembles his investigative team, statements by Trump’s friend Christopher Ruddy this week set off new questions.

Trump on Thursday took to Twitter to say the probe is being “led by some very bad and conflicted people!”

But a source close to the President told CNN’s Jim Acosta that Trump has been advised to avoid such a dramatic move.
